Teaching Conference 2025

29TH ANNUAL UWSP TEACHING CONFERENCE
Wednesday, January 15, 2025

This year, we are thrilled to explore the theme of “High-Impact Practices: Enhancing Student Learning, Retention, and Success.” High-impact practices (HIPs) are educational strategies that have been shown to significantly benefit student engagement, retention, and achievement. UWSP has a rich history of providing our students with these experiences, which include collaborative projects, undergraduate research, service learning, and internships. Our conference will focus on how these practices can be effectively implemented to foster a more enriching and supportive learning environment for our students.

In addition to sharing information about ongoing HIP initiatives at UWSP and the Universities of Wisconsin, conference presenters will discuss the results of recent research into what makes a high-impact practice high-impact, share suggestions for how to assess high-impact practices, and provide a venue for colleagues to share their experiences.

The conference keynote will be presented by Dr. Samantha Samreth, Director of Diversity and College Access at UWSP. Dr. Samreth will share results from recent work examining the experiences of students of color on campus and share information about HIPs in her area. She will be joined by a UWSP student panel.

The keynote and all breakout sessions will be held in person in the Dreyfus University Center on the Stevens Point campus. We hope you can join us for a day of learning, community, and reflection.
