Room Selection Process
Returning students are able to select their room/space for the fall term starting in mid-spring. Students new to the residence halls will be able to select their room/space for the fall term starting in early summer.
  • Timeslots for students to select their hall and room assignment are assigned based on completed credit hours, and then the completion of the housing application.

    • Timeslots are determined by the student's housing contract signed to date. This means the earlier the housing application is completed and signed, the earlier date and time is assigned for a student to select their own space.

    • Students will receive notifications about the room selection process at a later date. Students are encouraged to check their UWSP email daily for updates, and important information regarding housing.

Traditional Residence Hall: RETURNERS

  • It is always best to have your housing application complete as soon as possible for a traditional hall.
  • Students with applications completed by the deadline will then receive a room selection timeslot in their email for the Traditional Hall Selection process. You will receive the email with your selection timeslot and selection instructions. Timeslots are determined by completed credit hours.
  • Traditional Hall students are REQUIRED to select one of the meal plan options provided by Univeristy Dining.
  • Meal plan options will be available at the time of the Traditional Hall Room Selection process.

  • Housing application by June 1, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Students who have the above items complete by June 1 will receive a room selection timeslot which will give them access to the room selection.
  • To determine the student timeslot, uses the date that the student signed their housing contract.
  • After June 1, Housing and Residence Life will take everyone who completed a housing application by June 1 and assign a timeslot based on the contract completion date.
  • Therefore, the earlier the student signed their housing contract, the earlier they will get to select their room.
  • Timeslots will be emailed to the student's UWSP email account.
  • Room Selection will occur mid June.

About the Residence Halls

Traditional Residence Halls

  • Set up for double room occupancy.

  • All halls are set up for "scattered co-ed" room configuration; except for Pray-Sims Hall, which houses all men on the Pray side and all women on the Sims side.

  • DeBot Quads offer elevators, individual room temperature control, including air conditioning.

  • Allen Quad residence halls do not offer an elevator (except for Pray-Sims Hall), individual room temperature control, or air conditioning.

What does "scattered co-ed" mean? Scattered co-ed is defined by those of opposite identifying genders who live in an area of a building and are neighbors to each other (they live on the same floor/wing).
