Residence Halls

Here at UW-Stevens Point, your university housing experience is an integral part of your total educational package. The university recognizes that learning continues outside of the classroom, and a great deal of planning goes into making each floor in every hall a positive environment in which to live and learn. We recognize that our residence halls are more than just a place where students sleep, it’s where you will make lifelong friends, create memories, and grow as an individual.

Traditional Halls – In traditional halls, you will share a room with another student (unless buying out a single room). The residence halls are organized into three quads - Allen Quad, North DeBot Quad, and South DeBot Quad. Every hall has community kitchens, a computer lab, laundry facilities, study lounges, group meeting rooms, secured mailboxes, and recycling facilities.

Traditional Room – In traditional halls, your room will include 2 twin (extra long) beds, 2 desks, 2 desk chairs, 2 dressers, 2 closets, 2 wastebaskets, 2 study lights, 2 mirrors, and ResNet (computer network) connection port. Learn more here

Mail and Packages

To ensure mail is delivered to the correct person, the following policies are in place:

  • Mail must be addressed to the student and show both the first and last names
  • We DO NOT accept mail addressed to nicknames (example: Bear Guy, or Sweetie Pie)
  • When a package arrives for the student, an email will go to their uwsp.edu account
  • The email will indicate there is a package for pickup at the front desk
  • Mail received for a former resident is forwarded using the information left on file when they checked out of their room (we keep the address information for one academic year)
  • Items are only accepted through recognized carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx, Spee-Dee Delivery)
  • We DO NOT accept "drop-offs" from friends/family members

Repair Requests

How do I request a repair?

  • To request repairs to items in your room/suite, go to your hall's front desk and inform the desk worker of the problem. They will ask you some questions required for the completion of the work order request.
  • You may also enter your request online here
  • If anything in your room needs repair(s), tell your Resident Assistant (RA), or your Hall Director (HD) - they will ensure the damage is reported. Damages that occur through normal wear and tear are paid for by the university. You will be charged for any other damages. Charges for replacement and or repair of items damaged are based on repair and replacement costs plus associated labor fees.
What time does maintenance personnel come to do replacement/repairs?
  • Some work orders require Building Services maintenance staff to enter your room/suite as early as 7:30 a.m. if you have a concern with this time, please indicate this on the work request.
Do I have to be in the room during replacement/repairs?
  • We do not require your presence, but you are welcome to be there. If you or your roommate/suitemates are not present at the time of the repair, the maintenance staff will leave a slip informing you that work has been performed in your room/suite.
