The Legislative Committee was established in July 2008. In addition to its original charge, it has been given the task of overseeing efforts to realize the WEEB's biennial budget requests.
 

2013-2015 Biennial Budget Request to the Legislature

  • $200,000 appropriation to support the general environmental education grant program
  • 0.5 FTE to support the work of the WEEB
  • $15,000 increase to the WEEB's administrative operating budget
The request and justification are contained within the Board's 2013-2015 Biennial Budget Request.
 

2009-2011 Biennial Budget Request to the Legislature

  • $200,000 GPR appropriation to support the general environmental education grant program
  • 0.5 FTE to support the forestry/school forest grant program
  • 10% increase to the WEEB's administrative operating budget
  • 1.0 FTE in the Department of Public Instruction to serve as an environmental education consultant

The request and justfication for the DPI consultant position is found within Decision Item 4004 within the DPI 2009-2011 biennial budget request.
The board has contacted the Governor about these requests.
