Schmeeckle Birding and Forestry Tour
Schmeeckle Reserve, Stevens Point
Forestry is much more than just cutting down trees! We will tour Schmeeckle Reserve on the UW-Stevens Point property to see how smart forest management practices have created habitat for a variety of wildlife and bird species, while also introducing you to the basics of birding. We welcome both novice and experienced birders, so bring your binoculars, dress for the weather, and get ready to discover what birds can be seen during this time of high neotropical bird migration. This tour will involve long periods of walking on gravel or woodchip trails. Binoculars can be provided by request.
