Welcome to the Wisconsin Center for Wildlife (WCW) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Our mission is to engage students, landowners, professionals, and the public in sustainable wildlife management through research, education, and outreach. We collaborate with UW-Extension to host outreach activities for private landowners and the public, provide wildlife management training programs, workshops, and online resources for professionals, and support the education of undergraduate students at UW-Stevens Point's College of Natural Resources. Additionally, we strive to strengthen connections within the professional wildlife community and engage with stakeholders to advance conservation efforts.

The WCW's primary funding comes from the generous support of Gerald and Helen Stephens who created an endowment in memory of their son, Douglas. This endowment supports the Douglas R. Stephens Chair in Wildlife and provides the majority of our operating funds. UW-Stevens Point and UW-Extension partially fund the Director's position. Smaller donations, grants, and fundraising activities provide additional support.
The WCW is made up of endowed wildlife faculty referred to as "Primaries" and one staff memeber. The Primaries include Ben Sedinger, Ph.D, the Kennedy Grohne Chair in Wetlands and Waterfowl Conservation, and Cady Sartini, Ph.D., the Principal Investigator of the Stephens Family Foundation Wisconsin Black Bear Research Project.
