​Early Alert

During the fifth week of classes you may receive an email that indictates that you are not meeting expectations in the following areas:
  • Class Attendance
  • Academic Performance
This alert is designed to help students know if they are not meeting certain expectations so that there is time to alter strategies so that there can be success for the remainder of the semester. If you do receive one of these alerts, meet with your instructor to learn what you need to do turn things around and successfully complete your class with a great grade.

Resources you can begin or continue to use may include:

  • Meeting with a tutor in the Tutor-Learning Center.
  • Developing and addressing questions on material with the instructor during office hours.
  • Attending an Academic Coaching Workshop - free to all students! 
  • Learning about better study and test-taking skills through a second 8-week study skills course. Visit the timetable or ask your academic adviser about possible options.
  • Visit the counseling center or meet with your academic adviser if personal life situations are affecting your ability to do well and/or keep up in classes
Your academic adviser may also reach out to you and check in to see what obstacles may be in your way that is prompting this alert. Your academic adviser cares about your success and can serve as a helpful resource to help you reach your semester goals.
