The TLC Tutoring application for Fall 2026 is now open. The window for Fall 2026 will be open until April 12th. Applications received during this window will be considered for Fall 2026.
What qualifications are required?
- Completed at least one semester at UWSP with at least two semesters remaining
- Demonstrate a strong grasp of course material and/or written skills as evidenced by a 3.0 GPA or above and/or a faculty recommendation letter
- Available to tutor for at least two semesters
- Willing to work with peers in a collaborative, inclusive learning environment
- Enjoy helping others learn
How do I apply?
Academic Coaching

Supports students in time management, motivation, and study skills

All new tutors serve as academic coaches

Course Content
|
Help students understand specific course content through discussion, review, and practice in STEM, Psychology, Natural Resources, etc.
|

Tech Essentials
|
Help students comfortably and efficiently use UWSP software like Microsoft, Canvas, and Zoom. Positions available for specific software in Interior Architecture, GIS, and social statistics
|
|
World Languages
|
Practice the target language with students who are both in language classes and/or interested in the language
|
|
Writing
|
Discuss any aspect of the writign or reading process with students across all majors
|

What are the expectations of this position?
- Provide tutoring and support in one of our service areas
- Assist learners in the development of effective study skills and test-taking strategies
- Learn and continually apply TLC and tutoring program procedures
- Regularly check staff email and communicate with other staff members
- Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions
