Trained tutor who has taken the course in a prior semester.

and regularly attends lectures again.

What to expect in a session
|
Review and practice content led by tutor during weekly sessions in a collaborative learning environment.

No need to sign up in advance. Attendance is flexible, but consistency is best.

Cancellations |
Limited attendance may result in the cancellation of group sessions.
|
SI sessions will not be cancelled unless a leader has a conflict.

Students who utilize TLC resources have a higher average GPA than those who do not.
|
Students who regularly attend SI sessions receive higher course grades and
stay in college and graduate in higher numbers than nonparticipants.

Group Tutoring Cancellations
If sessions have less than 3 students per session starting Week 4 for 2 weeks in a row, the session is canceled. Make the best use of this fantastic resource by coming early and often!
For Faculty: Interested in Having a Group Tutor?
The TLC hires and trains group tutors for STEM courses based on recommendations and interest from faculty.
- The TLC pays group tutors
one hour to prepare for each weekly session and
one hour to facilitate each weekly session.
- Group tutors must
regularly attend TLC training and
keep accurate records of sessions.
- The TLC
hires group tutors one semester in advance
- Faculty with group tutors must
promote the service within their classes to ensure participation
