What are the benefits of participating in GROW?

What defines an office? How do we qualify for the program?

​There are many ways to define an office. Namely, an office is a group of people that share a common work environment. This can be categorized by a whole department, a subsection of a department, a floor, a room of people, etc. In your office, we ask that you include all full time, part time, and student staff. Feel free to email with questions on whether or not your office applies.  
​*As a recent development, we have also expanded to student organizations- feel free to reach out if your student org. is interested in getting involved!

What is the role of the green office leader?

The leader is in charge of communicating with the sustainability office, holding the office accountable in completing the checklist items, and completing the checklist once the steps to be more sustainable have been implemented. Do we need to complete all checklist items?

​No! It's recommended that your office try it's very best to complete all the checklist items, but we don't expect this. Different certification levels (gold, silver, and bronze) will be available based on the number of checklist items completed. 

What is the timeline? How much time do we get to complete the checklist?

​This will vary from office to office - a timeline can be discussed and set with the sustainabiliy office GROW coordinator.

What happens if a checklist item doesn't apply to my office?

​Contact the Office of Sustainability if this problem arises. We will find a way around the issue on a case-by-case basis. 

Can my office "re-try"?

​Yes! Email our office and/or resubmit the GROW Interest Form if you believe your office can do better.
