Resident Information

A permit serves as permission to park and does not guarantee a space. Permits are not valid at meters or pay stations without payment. Student permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, until the permit sales maximum is reached.

Student parking lots are located on the perimeters of campus and may not be as convenient as preferred. The student permit lots are not close to the academic buildings. The largest student lot is located on the East side of campus, while most residence halls are on the West side of campus.

Students are able to park at meters on campus or on the streets with proper payment.  Select the Visitors tab to find information regarding meter parking.

New students need to wait 2 business days after course enrollment before a Parking Account is uploaded into our system.

UWSP STUDENT J-P-Q parking permits are valid in any of the following three STUDENT parking lots:

  • Lot J - Maria Drive, east of the Waste Education Center
  • Lot P - Isadore Street, west of Debot Center
  • Lot Q - Michigan & Illinois Avenue

STUDENT LOT W (Located behind Hyer Hall on Main Street & Illinous Avenue) permits are availalble to accommodate Hyer Hall students, or for students who prefer to park on the South side of Campus.

Student permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, until the permit sales maximum is reached.  NOTE THAT PERMITS DO SELL OUT PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR, SO DON'T DELAY YOUR PURCHASE IF YOU NEED ONE.

Annual Permits (2024-2025) will be made available to purchase in early July on a first come first serve basis until sold out.  After they sold out a waitlist will be started.  If you want to purchase a permit, see the Permit Tab for additional information.

Your license plate is your permit.  There are no longer physical permits or stickers to display.  Prior to purchasing your permit, go to the Parking Portal and enter or verify your license plate.  Make sure your vehicle information, especially the license plate, is accurate.

You may register one vehicle and must notify the parking office if you switch vehicles for any reason.

Additional vehicles may be added if they belong to family members.  Students may not add any other vehicles to their accounts and may not have more than one vehicle on campus.

Send an email notification to Parking.Services.Office@uwsp.edu with the alternate vehicle license plate prior to parking on campus.  Include your student ID# in the email message.

Vehicles with only one license plate are prohibited from backing in or pulling through parking spaces.  Your license plate needs to be facing the drive lane.
