Math and Great Expectations

The UW-Stevens Point Department of Mathematical Sciences has launched a new program titled Math and Great Expectations (MAGE). This program began Jan. 31 in cooperation with the Stevens Point Area School District. The pilot section takes place at Washington Elementary school with a one-hour class per week. The program is totally free for elementary students.

UW-Stevens Point cares deeply for school district elementary students’ education and we want to improve their math skill. We provide  teachers (from the UWSP math department) and math class supplies. UWSP elementary education majors serve as class assistants. We hope more people get to know about this program and we hope more students get enrolled in this program.

The MAGE program is sponsored by the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the College of Letters and Science.
