Are you considering going to college or transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) and looking forward to all the new experiences, making friends, and preparing for your future? We know that paying for your college education can be stressful and even confusing. Our team is here to help you navigate the process and assist you with any questions you may have in making your education affordable.
INVEST IN YOURSELF. BECOME A POINTER.
As a new student, you are eligible for several financial aid opportunities at UWSP. The first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for federal, state, and institutional financial aid. In order to receive a financial aid offer, you must be admitted to UWSP. Admission information is available on the
Office of Admissions website.
The Office of Financial Aid and Veteran Services administers federal, state, private, and institutional aid. A good place to begin is by understanding the various types and sources of financial assistance (view our Types of Aid tab) as well as the
cost of attending the University. Additionally, we've created a financial aid brochure,
FAFSA completion tips, and
financial aid checklist for you to use to assist you in the financial aid process.
The FAFSA determines your eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and any need-based scholarships. Some financial aid funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis so it is important to file the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1st* each year. The deadline for priority consideration is
May 1st each year.
* The FAFSA for the 2024-2025 academic year became available December 31, 2023, due to several changes to the application. Please check the studentaid.gov website frequently for updates.
View our
Dates and Deadlines web page for more information and important financial aid dates. Be sure to activate and check your UWSP email address as this is how we will mostly be communicating with you. Already received your financial aid offer?
