Broadway Shows

Real Women have Curves

Follows Ana García who longs to spread her wings and chase her dreams. Ana is swept into a whirlwind of ambition and duty—forcing her to find her voice. Inspired by Josefina López’s play that led to the beloved HBO film, Real Women Have Curves: The Musical features music by Grammy® Award winner Joy Huerta and is directed by Tony Award® winner Sergio Trujillo. As WBUR puts it, this powerful story “makes us feel we can all soar!”

Operation Mincemeat

Takes place in 1943 and we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse. Think Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II. This is the best-reviewed show in London’s history so don’t miss it!

Dead Outlaw

The bizarre true story of outlaw-turned-corpse-turned-celebrity Elmer McCurdy. As Elmer’s body finds even more outlandish adventures in death than it could have ever hoped for in life, the show explores fame, failure, and the meaning – or, utter meaninglessness – of legacy. Dying is no reason to stop living life to its fullest.

Buena Vista Soical Club

Journey into the soul of Havana, where fiery rhythms ignite the night and one woman finds the music that changes her life. Inspired by true events, Buena Vista Social Club™ brings the Grammy®-winning album to life with a global cast and a world-class Afro-Cuban band. It’s a powerful story of dreams, resilience, and the transformative power of music.

Important Notes

  • Traveling within New York City requires frequent walking and stairs. Please be prepared to walk up to a half a mile at a time. Walking several miles in a day is common but can be avoided via subways and taxis. Broadway theaters and New York subways often require some steep stairs. Most of the shows are approximately five blocks from our hotel.

  • Travelers under age 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • These trips frequently fill quickly, sometimes in less than 24-hours. We encourage you to act quickly to reserve your place.

  • UWSP Continuing Education does not provide travel insurance, medical, or emergency evacuation and thus you are 100% responsible for these expenses. We strongly advise you purchase travel insurance as soon as possible after registering for a trip because some insurance providers only guarantee certain benefits within a short time after you make a travel deposit. We also advise carrying health insurance while on any tour as well.

  • Travelers may want to consider short-term traveler's insurance that covers baggage, accident/life, trip interruption, trip cancellation, and more. Visit Travel Insurance Review to answer any of your travel insurance questions, get tips, and advice, or compare different providers.

Cancellation Policy

Since UWSP makes financial commitments in advance, no refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 90 days prior to the trip. Cancellations received more than 90 days before the trip will receive a full refund minus $450. However, a substitute traveler is an option. Please email UWSP at uwspceweb@uwsp.edu with information on a cancellation or substitution.
