Whether you are a lumberjack enthusiast or a first-time spectator, the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward promise an unforgettable blend of athleticism, camaraderie, and the rugged spirit of the Northwoods. This annual event showcases the skill, strength, and precision of lumberjacks from around the globe. From thrilling axe throwing competitions to lightning-fast logrolling and chainsaw events, the championships promise a spectacle of athleticism and outdoor prowess. ​Your trip leaders are Anne Rogalski and Becky Wirkus.

  • Public: $145​ ​per person
  • LIFE Members: $125 per person
  • UWSP Alumni: $125 per person
  • UWSP Student: $125 ​per person
  • Veterans: $125 per person
  • Youth (17 and younger): $125 ​per person​​​

​​​​Trip Information​

Schedule

We plan on arriving in Hayward at around 3 pm. Then from 3-5 pm, feel free to tour the vendors, exhibits, and grab something to eat! The show will begin at 5:30 pm, so we will try to be seated before then. The show should end around 8:30 pm, and our bus will depart from Hayward by 9 pm. We plan on arriving back in Wausau prior to midnight.​

Bus Transportation

​You may bring food and drink onto the bus. The only restriction would be glass bottles and containers. Plastic bottles and cans are acceptable for the bus ride. For those who have asked, alcohol is allowed on the bus. Coolers are also welcomed butshould not block the aisle. A pillow and blanket may also make the long drive more comfortable. Please note there is a bathroom on the coach bus. ​​​

Stevens Point Pick Up 

​Bus Loading Location: Parking lot in front of Dunham’s Sports, corner closest to McDonald's (HWY 10, Stevens Point) 
Bus Loading Time: 11:00 a.m. (Please be on time) 
Bus Departure from Stevens Point: 11:15 a.m. 

Wausau Pick Up ​

Bus Loading Location: Marathon County Park, Parking lot closest to UW-Stevens Point at Wausau, 1201 Stewart Ave 
Bus Loading Time: 12:00 p.m. (Please be on time) 
Bus Departure from Marshfield: 12:15 p.m. ​​

Cancellation Policy

Since we make financial commitments in advance, no refunds will be issued for cancellations. However, you may send a substitute in your place. Please email us at uwspceweb@uwsp.edu to inform us of the substitution.
