Virtual Exhibit Booth - Jennifer Parker Intimate Partner Abuse Therapy & Consultant

About Me

I am a therapist in Madison, WI specializing in intimate partner abuse. Since 1991, hundreds of survivors have benefitted from my specialized program that provides individual as well as group therapy. I also train therapists in intimate partner survivor work and am available for consultation. Besides conferences, I provide workshops and/or consultations to clinics or individual therapists. See my video below for information about my book for survivors and those who care for them.

I believe intimate partner abuse stems from the same cultural beliefs and expectations that permit all violence and oppressions. This includes the polarization and lack of civility occurring now. As Martin Luther King said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Intimate Partner Abuse therapy involves helping:

  • Come to terms with the abuse and grieve how it affected them
  • Develop skills for managing overwhelming emotions
  • Rebuild "battered" self-esteem
  • Counteract self-defeating thoughts and beliefs stemming from IPV or childhood abuse
  • Identify assertive responses to situations, considering safety
  • Learn to disengage with abusers' behavior
My mission is:
  • to train therapists in best practices for intimate partner abuse survivors' recovery and
  • to reach survivors of intimate partner abuse through my book, "Coercive Relationships: Find the Answers You Seek."

Please email or call me to set up a free consultation this week. Contacts are below.
