Adventure Racing is a growing team sport that combines trekking/running, biking, paddling, and orienteering (map and compass navigation) through wilderness courses in search of hidden checkpoints. Join previous National Champion adventure racers Tim and Anna for an intro to the sport and tips on preparing for your first adventure race, whether it be a 3-hour, 8-hour, or multi-day adventure. Topics covered will include an overview of the sport, preparing your body and mind, fueling, adventure race skills, team dynamics, gear, and more.

  • $15 per person


Instructor


Tim Buchholz and Anna Nummelin of team Rib Mountain Racing are the core of the #1 ranked adventure racing ream in the United States and course directors of the annual Rib Mountain Adventure Challenge. They are previous Collegiate National Champions and have a combined 30+ years of adventure racing experience between the two of them, including 250+ adventure race finishes.

Minimum Computer Standards


Registrants are responsible
 for ensuring they have the minimum computer standards for participating in the virtual Continuing Education program via Zoom. UW-Stevens Point is not responsible for registrant technological issues, including, but not limited to, inadequate bandwidth and/or registrant equipment malfunction.

Cancellation Policy


Refunds will be granted if the Continuing Education and Outreach office is contacted at least seven (7) days before the start of a class. No refunds will be given with less than seven (7) days notice. Programs that involve pre-ordering of materials and/or travel will not qualify for a refund unless your space can be filled from a waiting list. We reserve the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment, severe weather, or instructor illness. A full refund will be issued under these circumstances. BE SURE to provide your email address and phone number when registering so we can contact you if a class is cancelled for any reason. Email Continuing Education Customer Service at  uwspceweb@uwsp.edu to cancel your registration.
