​​Certificate Purpose

The UWSP Continuing Education Certificate for High Impact Leadership is designed to help individual contributors, supervisors, managers, and directors from every type of organization lead themselves, lead others and lead results. The certificate leverages enlightening presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and hands-on activities.​​​

The Leadership Certificate ​​​consists of six workshops. You are required to complete six (6) workshops within two (2) years to earn the Leadership Certificate.

2024 - 2025 Leadership Workshops

This 6-month experience includes team-based, applied learning, regional network building, and the opportunity to learn with experienced instructors from for profit, nonprofit and government backgrounds.

October 25, 2024 | Unboxing Your Leadership

What’s your career journey?

In this workshop we unbox your career, your impact, and the future you imagine. In this session you will identify the skills you want to strengthen so that you can maximize wellbeing and productivity. The workshop incorporates active learning and provides several action tools so that you can begin applying what you learn immediately.

Session Outcomes: During this session you will create a career map, assess your leadership skills, and craft a 12-month leadership development plan.​

November 15, 2024 | Unlocking the Mystery to Sustainable Resilience: Integrating Mind, Body, and Spirit for Lasting Strength

Can you imagine the excitement you would feel to find a reliable, sustainable daily source of personal energy? The answer is inside you. 

In a world where constant change and unexpected challenges are the norm, developing sustainable resilience is essential. This interactive program delves into the holistic integration of mind, body, and spirit to build a robust foundation of personal strength. Drawing on decades of experience in mental health, inpatient rehabilitation, and leadership development, this session offers practical tools and transformative insights. Attendees will learn to change mental habits, regulate emotions, harness daily energy, and deepen their connections with themselves and others. Through engaging stories and proven strategies, this program provides a comprehensive approach to balance intuition with daily demands and empowering others to do the same.  

Session Outcomes: Participants will leave with skills and tools in mindful self-assessment of well-being, emotion regulation, developing positivity, stress reduction, and developing a personalized resilience plan.

December 13, 2024 | Cultivating a Growth Mindset

What's your Mindset? 

In this workshop we explore the costs and benefits of mindset. We use several studies to improve your mindset moves so that you can accelerate your career, shift your mindset, and influence the mindsets of the people, projects, and organizations you lead. The workshop incorporates active learning and provides several action tools so that you can begin applying what you learn immediately.

Session Outcomes: During this session you will develop a plan for bringing a growth mindset to your organization with the goal of improving employee attraction and retention.

What’s your appetite for change? 

In this workshop you will explore the dynamic connections between employee satisfaction, organization change, field innovation, and measurable productivity. You will learn how to frame change, balance innovation and keep stakeholders engaged and flexible.​

Session Outcomes: During the session you will learn to use a change assessment map as well as a standard process for planning communication to multiple stakeholder groups.

February 14, 2025 | Driving Customer Alignment and Impact​

What do your customers care about?

In this workshop you will gain insights about how to clarify customer needs, align organizational goals with customer expectations, and drive results that foster customer loyalty and business growth.

Session Outcomes: During this session you will create a customer empathy map and define the factors driving customer loyalty in your sector. You will leave with a plan to sustain relationships and growth profitability.
