Policies directly impact the context and content of natural resource professionals’ work. From international agreements to national legislation to voter-driven ballot measures, the career of a natural resource professional is driven by policy. Policy decisions determine what gets done and how it gets done, thereby driving the success of our profession’s work. The Wildlife Society engages in policy discussions to help ensure that policies empower, enable, and assist conservation professionals in their work. Alongside partners, TWS seeks to improve existing policies and advance the creation of new landmark policies that will help ensure the success of our profession—and the conservation of natural resources into the future.

Keith Norris is the Director of Wildlife Policy and Communications at The Wildlife Society, where he advances policies, publications, and communications that inspire, empower, and enable wildlife professionals in science-based management and conservation of wildlife and their habitats. Keith holds a B.S. degree in Wildlife from Purdue University, an M.A. in Public Policy & Management from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, and an M.S. in Environment and Natural Resources – Wildlife and Fisheries at The Ohio State University.
