Internships

UWSP requires all Land Use Planning undergraduate students to earn credits in an internship experience.  Students can search all College of Natural Resources internship programs here. The goal of this internship is to gain valuable professional and practical experience in the field of land use planning. This internship will primarily be done in their junior year of college. This is a wonderful opportunity for students and potential employers alike.

Examples of intern projects include:  assembling and analyzing data for the required comprehensive planning elements such as issues and opportunities and the agricultural and natural resources element, preparing educational pieces important to a planning and/or zoning office, or helping with enforcement and inspection of zoning and other ordinances.

Local officials interested in hiring an intern should plan for necessary funding in the budget cycle and contact Dr. Anna Haines, Ph.D., at 715-346-2386.
