Clean Boats, Clean Waters
Watercraft Inspection

With the growing concern over the spread of aquatic invasive species to Wisconsin’s inland lakes, many lake association members and other concerned citizens are looking for ways to get involved. The Clean Boats, Clean Waters watercraft inspection program is an opportunity to take a front line defense against the spread of aquatic invasive species.

Through the Clean Boats, Clean Waters program, participants are trained to organize and conduct a boater education program in their communities. Watercraft inspectors talk with boaters and anglers about aquatic invasive species (AIS), show them how to take steps to prevent the spread of AIS, and collect and report data about their outreach efforts.

Taking simple prevention steps while enjoying Wisconsin's waters contains and prevents the spread of AIS. Learn how you can help on the DNR's AIS Prevention webpage.
