IRB Training
Prior to receiving IRB approval, Principal Investigators and their research staff (including students) must complete training in human research ethics in order to be in compliance with UW Stevens Point's Federal Wide Assurance Agreement.
Training is conducted through CITI Program and instructions for setting up a CITI account can be found here. The CITI program training is valid for three (3) years, at which time a refresher course will be required to continue projects. See below for guidance on the CITI courses to enroll in.
- If you will be working with humans (i.e. surveys, behavioral assessments, etc.), select Social-Behavioral-Educational Research.
- If you will be working with biomedical research (i.e. clinicians, pharmaceuticals, etc.), select the Biomedical Research.
- All researchers with access to Private Identifiable Information OR Protected Health Information must complete the Information Security & Privacy (IPS) course.
-IPS for Clinicians - Biomedical Researchers may take this course.
-IPS for Researchers - All other Human Subjects researchers with access to private identifiable information or protected health information.
- All researchers working with student identifiable information (grades, assignments, private information, etc.), select the FERPA for Researchers Course.
