Barb LaMue is president of The New North, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, regional marketing and economic development organization serving 18 counties in northeast Wisconsin.

Prior to assuming the post at The New North, LaMue was vice president for economic development for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.  Previous to her work at WEDC, LaMue was executive director of Centergy, an economic development agency serving Central Wisconsin, and prior to that, the vice president of economic development for the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. In this capacity she led economic development initiatives for Advance, the non-profit economic development corporation for the Chamber, managed a business incubator and coordinated business development initiatives for Brown County. Other work includes serving as executive director of the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Economic Development Corporation and as a part-time instructor for Mid-State Technical College.

LaMue holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with minors in Marketing and Economics and a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in local government. She also received her Economic Development Finance Certification from the National Development Council and national certification in economic development from the International Economic Development Council.
