Logos and Icons

UW-Stevens Point name and logo: To strengthen UW-Stevens Point's brand and identity in social media, use the UW-Stevens Point name and the UW-Stevens Point branding bar on accounts or pages that represent an official university program or entity. For example, say "UW-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources" instead of simply "Natural Resources" or "CNR." When there are space constraints–for example, the 280-character limit on Twitter–you may use "UWSP" instead of "UW-Stevens Point."

If your page title or account name includes "UW-Stevens Point” or “UWSP," use your unique picture with the branding bar as the profile picture. Contact University Communications and Marketing or refer to the Communication Standards Manual for the branding bar that has been optimized to display correctly on the page and in the feed for that social media channel. Do not use the seal or other university logos. To use an athletics picture with branding bar, you must have permission from the licensing coordinator in University Communications and Marketing and the sports information director in Athletics.

If you create pages or accounts to conduct university business as an individual, continue to use your own name and profile photograph. Be sure to identify yourself as a university employee in the biography/information section of the site. For example, admission counselors may create Twitter accounts using their own names and photos for the purpose of working with prospective and admitted students.

Personal accounts for faculty, staff or students for a nonuniversity purpose cannot use the name “UW-Stevens Point” on their account or social media page, and must not use the university branding bar or any other university logos or marks.

Official student organizations, club sports and other recognized groups may use the name "UW-Stevens Point" in the name of their account or page, but may not use UW-Stevens Point's branding bar, athletics logos, university logos or seal. Groups of students who are not recognized as official organizations by Campus Activities and Student Engagement may not use UW-Stevens Point's name, logo, or any other university marks.

Social media icons for email: You may add social media-related icons to your UW-Stevens Point email signature or webpages if you are linking to a designated UW-Stevens Point social media site. You may not link icons to your personal social media accounts from your UW-Stevens Point email account. The following icons are optimized for use in email signatures. Most frequently used by UW-Stevens Point are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Small Digital Spaces

Some digital spaces are too small for the logo or signature to be used following the minimum size of reproduction requirements. Follow these guidelines to determine an acceptable alternative.

UW-Stevens Point text: Use the word(s) "UW-Stevens Point" or "UWSP" in text if the height of the space is less than 20 pixels. Recommended fonts include: Helvetica, ITC Avant Garde or Franklin Gothic. Note that these fonts become less legible at sizes below 11 pixels.

Primary configuration: Use a unique photo for the department or unit followed by the UWSP branding bar. The name of the group should have a configuration of “UWSP” or “UW-Stevens Point” followed by text that describes the program, e.g., "UWSP College of Professional Studies."
