With songs “From
Russia with Love,” the Wind Ensemble at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point will present its final concert of the semester Wednesday, April 27.
Held at 7:30 p.m.
in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center, the concert will be conducted
by Assistant Professor Michael Butler, director of bands.
The
program includes “Prelude” and “Folk Dances” by Dmitri Shostakovich, “Concerto
for Trumpet” by Alexander Arutiunian and featuring Associate Professor of
Trumpet Brent Turney, “March, op. 99” by Sergei Prokofiev and “Extreme
Makeover: Metamorphoses on themes of Tchaikovsky” by Johan De Meij.
A part of the Music Department Scholarship
Series, the concert is $8.25 for the public, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25
for youth and students. Tickets are free the day of the concert for UW-Stevens
Point students with I.D. Tickets are available at the University Information
