Showcase your talents at a monthly event for creative performances at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Wausau starting Thursday, Nov. 18.
"Open Mic Nights" are open to students and community members for music, readings, comedy, magic, dance, impersonations, juggling, ventriloquism and other talents.
The event will be held in the Student Union, 518 S. 7th Ave., Wausau, from 4-7 p.m. one Thursday a month. The space features lighting, microphones and a new sound system.
In addition, UWSP at Wausau's dining area, "A Taste of Jamaica," will open for dinner during "Open Mic Nights," serving from 4-7 p.m. The restaurant features jerk chicken sandwiches and tacos, plantains, burgers, chicken strips, fries and other delicious options.
After the Nov. 18 kick-off, Open Mic Night will be held the second Thursday of each month (excluding January) during the academic year.
Attendees should park in Marathon Park, in the lot near the little red schoolhouse (and enter at the west entrance to the main building) or in Lot G (and enter at the east entrance).
