Discover emotional and cultural landscapes created by five artists in "Topographies" at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Edna Carlsten Gallery.

The exhibit runs through Sunday, Dec. 4, and features the ceramic works of Jessica Calderwood, an associate professor at Ball State University; Sarah Gross, an assistant professor at the University of Kansas-Lawrence; Debbie Kupinsky, an assistant professor at St. Norbert College; Michelle Tobia, a studio artist in North Wales, Pa.; and Valerie Zimany, an assistant professor at Clemson University. It is open to the public, free of charge.

The artists were chosen for a diverse approach to concept, material, surface and form, said Kupinsky, who curated the exhibit.

"Each artist seeks to create an experience that allows viewers to contemplate the meaning of their own personal terrains and challenge them to consider the cultural, physical and spiritual notions of topography," she said.

The Carlsten Gallery is located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center. It is open Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. For more information, go to www.uwsp.edu/art-design.
