Discover the culture and foods of Southeast Asia at the
15th annual “Taste of Toj Roob - The Mountains: A Story Lost in Time,”
sponsored by the Hmong and Southeast Asian American Club (HaSEAAC) student
organization at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
A
celebration of Hmong culture, the event will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, in the
Laird Room of the Dreyfus University Center, 1015 Reserve St., Stevens Point.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and a program and dinner begin at 5 p.m., featuring a talk
by Anthropology Lecturer Tori Jennings. The family-style meal will be prepared
by HaSEAAC members.
At
6:30 p.m., the public may attend the free keynote address by MaiGer Moua,
program director and community impact adviser for United Way of Marathon
County, as well as free entertainment offered following her presentation.
Reserved seats for the dinner are available in advance
for $12 per person or $15 at the door. UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and
staff with ID may attend for $10. Groups of eight or more are $10 per person.
Children under age 10 are free. Tickets may be purchased at the University
Information and Tickets Office in the Dreyfus University Center or by calling
