MEDIA ADVISORY: Schmeeckle Reserve to host Fall Candlelight Hike
What:
Schmeeckle Reserve at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will host its 2011Fall Candlelight Hike Festival this Friday, with programs and activities themed around “Stormy Weather at Schmeeckle.”
The event is free and open to the public, with suggested donations of $2 per person or $5 per family.
When:
Friday, Oct. 28, 6:30–9:30 p.m.
Interactive programs at 7 and 8 p.m. at the campfire ring
All evening:
Hike a one-mile wooded path lit with jack-o-lanterns and torches
Explore Storm Discovery Stations: make clouds, swirl a tornado, create a flood and tour the Schmeeckle weather station
Make your own rain stick
Enjoy snacks, refreshments and shopping at the Visitor Center Browse Shop
