Go batty and explore the impact of pine trees in our area through free programs offered at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Schmeeckle Reserve in December.
Led by UW-Stevens Point students, the programs meet at the reserve's Visitor Center, located at 2419 North Point Dr., Stevens Point, unless otherwise noted.
Family nature programs offered in December include:
- Going Batty, Tuesday, Dec. 3, 5-6 p.m. Debunk the myths surrounding bats and learn how these creatures help people.
- Pines and Point, Saturday, Dec. 7, 1-2 p.m. White pine trees have played a big part in Stevens Point history, influencing culture, growing the town and even providing tea.
