Aquatic classes offered for adults

Adults with arthritis and older adults looking for a low-impact workout are offered aquatic classes this fall and winter through the Special Needs Aquatic Program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Classes are offered on Mondays and Thursdays, with a 16-class session held Sept. 3 through Oct. 29 at a cost of $48. Another session of 13 classes will be held Nov. 2 through Dec. 17 for $39. Each class is 45 minutes.

The Basic Aquatic Exercise class will be held at 8:45 a.m., and the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program will be offered at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Classes are limited to 15 participants each.

Both sessions will be held in the therapeutic pool, adjacent to the Quandt Fieldhouse in the UW-Stevens Point Health Enhancement Center, 2050 Fourth Avenue.
