Presidio Brass formed in
2006, combining a brass quintet and piano and percussion instruments with
fresh, original arrangements. The resulting sound has become a trademark for
the ensemble from San Diego, Calif. Their recent tour, “Sounds of the Cinema,”
combined humor and film music. The group has performed and led master classes
across the United States and the world and has been featured on National Public
Radio. It has performed with symphony orchestras in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Presidio Brass has released
four recordings. The most recent, “Rhapsody in Brass,” is a collection of
popular American music influenced by classical and jazz idioms. The group also
performs regularly as part of Millennia Consort, one of the nation’s premiere
brass, organ and percussion ensembles.
