Paper Diamond to perform at UW-Stevens Point
Dub-step and DJ artist Paper Diamond will bring his one-of-a-kind, high-energy sound to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.
The concert will begin with opening acts (to be announced) at 8 p.m. and Paper Diamond at 10 p.m. in the Laird Room of the Dreyfus University Center, 1015 Reserve St., Stevens Point. Tickets are $15 plus a service fee and are available at University Information and Tickets in the Dreyfus University Center, by calling 715-346-4100 or at http://tickets.uwsp.edu. Tickets may also be purchased through Paper Diamond on the Web at www.paper-diamond.com.
Co-sponsored by UW-Stevens Point Centertainment Productions’ Centerstage and Late Night programming, the show features DJ artist Alex B., a Colorado music producer who recently emerged onto the music scene as Paper Diamond. He strives to make music with raw energy and dramatic anticipation by mixing heavy beats with layers of spacey synthesizers, sweet melodies and catchy vocals.
Paper Diamond produces under Pretty Lights Music and Elm&Oak Records. His latest EP, “Levitate,” is available for free download at www.paper-diamond.com. Paper Diamond may also be found on Facebook, Twitter or MySpace.
“Dub-step is an up-and-coming genre of music,” said Trevor Fyler, Centerstage coordinator for Centertainment Productions. “The Central Wisconsin area doesn’t see many dub-step or DJ artists come through; so Centertainment is very pleased to present Paper Diamond as a unique and
high-energy concert in Stevens Point.”
