Preschoolers and their parents will see animal tails
while hearing animal tales this fall at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point’s Museum of Natural History.
Story Time at the Museum is a free, public program that brings natural history to life through books read by UW-Stevens Point students. Each session also includes an activity or art project related to the story.
Story Time will be held biweekly on Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 18. Call 715-346-2858 to register, then meet at the museum on the first floor of the University Library, 900 Reserve St., Stevens Point. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
This semester's programs and book titles include:
- Sept. 18, "If You Were a Panda Bear" - Celebrate International Panda Day by discovering more about bears of all kinds.
- Oct. 2, "Crawdad Creek" - Join friends Lizzie and Michael as they find creatures in the stream behind their house.
- Oct. 30, "T-Rex Trick-or-Treats" - It's International Dinosaur Month. Hear how T.Rex and his friends are searching high and low for the perfect Halloween costumes.
- Nov. 13, "Let the Lynx Come In" - A magical lynx leads a young boy on an amazing adventure.
- Dec. 4, "Rainbow Crow" - This Native American legend tells of a crow who tries to save other woodland animals.
