UW-Stevens Point student selected to study water management technologies in Germany
A University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point student was recently selected to visit Germany recently to learn about sustainable water management technologies.
Aaron Marti, a senior from Wisconsin Rapids who is majoring in German and water resources, joined an 11-state delegation of students and young professionals at the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest’s third Transatlantic Program for Young Technology Leaders (TAP-YTL).
The delegation explored Germany’s reputation as the leading global exporter of sustainable water technologies. The group learned about efficient industrial manufacturing processes for treating wastewater on a very large scale and studied the newest research efforts in wastewater treatment. In Hamburg, the delegation learned about the city’s efficient drinking water treatment, distribution and infrastructure, as well as the energy neutral wastewater treatment at Germany’s largest treatment plant.
The TAP-YTL series is designed to bring future decision makers from the U.S. and Germany together at the beginning of their professional careers, or late in their studies, to build networks and promote knowledge transfer through content-driven encounters and experiences.
