Second UW-Stevens Point student up for national student artist award
A second art and design student at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has been nominated in the ArtLA Student Artist of the Year search.
Jeff Heath, a senior from Algonquin, Ill., has joined fellow student Jennifer Lila in the competition, which is held through a public online vote at www.artlastudents.com and runs through June 10.
Heath’s mixed media sculpture, “Where is it coming from?” and Lila’s work, a permanently installed mural in UW-Stevens Point’s Trainer Natural Resources Building, are both in the sculpture category with works by artists from across the U.S. The winner of this national competition is eligible for a $10,000 prize and exhibit at the ArtLA gallery in Santa Monica, Calif.
