Singer, songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney will perform at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in January.

The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at the Laird Room in the Dreyfus University Center. Tickets are now sold out. The concert is sponsored by Centertainment Productions, a student-run booking agency at UW-Stevens Point.

McCartney began his music career as a member of the boy band, Dream Street. His first solo album, "Beautiful Soul," was released in 2004 and sold more than 1.8 million copies. He co-wrote "Bleeding Love" for singer Leona Lewis in 2008. The song was No. 1 in 34 countries and was nominated for a Grammy Award. The single, "Leavin,'" from his third album, "Departure," was No. 1 for five weeks and was Top 40 radio's most played song in 2008. He released the album, "In Technicolor" in 2014.

As an actor, McCartney was twice nominated for an Emmy Award for his work in "All My Children." He has starred in the series "Young and Hungry," "Summerland" and "Army Wives," and was featured on "Greek," "Law and Order SVU" and "CSI: Las Vegas." His film credits include "Keith," "Beware The Gonzo" and "Chernobyl Diaries." He has also voiced characters for animated films, video games and television series.
