Art isn’t taking a vacation this
summer at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Edna Carlsten Gallery.
Three exhibits will be featured in the gallery, located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center on campus:
- Brian
Borchardt: My Aesthetic Confession,
through Saturday, June 7
The exhibit features the letterpress collages of Stevens Point artist Brian
Borchardt, the curator of the Smith Scarabocchio Art Museum. The works reflect
the artist’s passion for texture and tactile surfaces as well as for book
reading and printing. A closing reception will be held at the gallery June 7
from 4-6 p.m.
- Vague Images
of the Past: Korean Artists from the Gail Art Museum, June 14-30
The exhibit is part of an exchange between Korean artists and faculty artists
from UW-Stevens Point. A few of the Korean artists will attend a reception at
the Carlsten Gallery Friday, June 13, from 4-6 p.m. Work by UW-Stevens Point
faculty will be exhibited at the Gail Art Museum in Gapyung, South Korea,
August 1-Sept. 28.
- KiHwan Sun:
Meditations on Inner Nature, July
2-Sept. 15
Sun is a well-known wood block printer from Korea. He will be available at a
reception at the gallery Wednesday, July 2, from 4-6 p.m. A closing reception
will be held Monday, Sept. 15, from 4-6 p.m. (The gallery is closed Friday,
July 4.)
Free and open to the public, the Carlsten Gallery hours are
Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., plus 7-9 p.m. Thursdays and from
