Campus and Concert bands to perform at UW-Stevens Point

Join the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Campus and Concert bands for a spring concert Tuesday, April 26. 

Held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center, the concert will feature the Campus Band conducted Patrick Lawrence, associate professor of low brass and music education, and by two apprentice conductors – music education majors Rachel Harder of Rhinelander and Casey Parker of Appleton. The Concert Band will be conducted by Michael Butler, assistant professor of music and director of bands. 

The Campus Band will perform “Overture for Winds” by Elliot Del Borgo, “At Sunrise” by Rob Romeyn, “The Age of Chivalry” by Ryan Meeboer and “Farandole” from L’Arlesienne Suite No. 2 by Georges Bizet. 

The Concert Band will present “Chester Overture for Band” by William Schuman, “Festal Scenes” by Yasuhide Ito, “In Memoriam” by John Halvorsen and “Arabesque” by Samuel Hazo. 

The event is part of the Music Department Scholarship Series. Tickets are $8.25 for adults, $5.25 for senior citizens, $4.25 for students and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D.
