Two bands at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point will present a joint concert Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Noel Fine Arts Center's Michelsen Hall.
The Concert Band, directed by Assistant Professor and Director of Bands Michael Butler, will perform selections from "The Danserye" by Tielman Susato, "Air for Band" by Frank Erickson upon the piece's 60th anniversary, "Nobles of the Mystic Shrine" by John Philip Sousa featuring student Kristen Pfluger on harp and "Alleluia! Laudamus Te" by Alfred Reed.
The Campus Band, directed by Associate Professor Patrick Lawrence, will perform "Legends and Heroes" by Pierre La Plante, "American Folksong Suite No. 1," "Arctic Fire" by Robert Buckley and "Passacaglia on an English Folksong" from "Green Bushes" by Percy Aldridge Grainger. Student conductor Jeanette Colombe will assist for "Arctic Fire."
Concert tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and staff members and youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out.
