UW-Stevens Point Campus Band features Wisconsin composers

Enjoy music with ties to Wisconsin as the Campus Band and several student chamber ensembles join in concert at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Tuesday, March 6. 

The concert, "Melodies of Home: A Tribute to Wisconsin Composers and Music," will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center, conducted by Jared Dalgleish, associate lecturer of low brass.

Student chamber ensembles will perform during the first half of the concert. During the last half, the Campus Band will perform "Wisconsin Forward Forever," written by John Philip Sousa for UW-Madison, "Prairie Songs" by Pierre La Plante, "A Child's Embrace" by former UW-Stevens Point professor Charles Rochester Young and "Garden of the Gods" by Rick Kirby.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out. Tickets also may be purchased at the door if available. Proceeds benefit student scholarships.
