Women
who have always wanted to try fly fishing have the opportunity June 6-7 as part
of the Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program.
The
Fly Fishing Workshop will be held at the Rose Farm on the Waupaca River and is
geared toward those with little or no experience. A fishing license is not
needed during Wisconsin’s “free fishing” weekend.
The workshop begins on Friday evening with an
introductory session that includes desserts and beverages. The Saturday session
includes basic instruction, on-stream fishing, lunch, dinner and guided evening
fishing.
The $199
fee includes hands-on lessons in equipment, knot tying, casting
and fishing. With one instructor for every two participants, individualized
coaching is available for the graceful art of casting, landing and properly
releasing fish.
“This
is a wonderful opportunity to spend time on the water,” said Peggy Farrell,
International BOW director. “The BOW program has patient, knowledgeable
instructors. Women ranging in age from 18 to 80-plus have attended our programs
and enjoyed the camaraderie of spending time with others who appreciate
nature.”
