Tapestry weaving workshop offered through UW-Stevens Point
Create a woven tapestry in a class offered through Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
“Tapestry Weaving” will be held on Wednesdays from Feb. 15 through March 14 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. for teens and adults. During the course, participants will build a small frame loom and learn to warp and weave a tapestry sampler (8 by 14 inches), including color changes, simple shapes and finishing. Yarn will be provided as well as a list of items to bring to class.
Instructor Susan Leschke is a textile artist whose work has been exhibited nationally and published in “Fiber Arts,” “Surface Design Journal” and “Handwoven.” She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree in textiles from Virginia Commonwealth University and has taught various courses in her field.
