Learn Norwegian rosemaling through UW-Stevens Point
Learn the decorative folk art of Norwegian rosemaling in a course offered through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education program.
“Introduction to Norwegian Rosemaling” will be offered for teens through adults on Thursdays, March 29 through April 19, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Participants will learn the history of rosemaling, woodenware preparation, pattern use, basis brush strokes and special Norwegian faux finishes. The cost of $79 includes materials except for brushes. Painting will be done with acrylics.
Instructor Carol Bender has taught rosemaling at Midstate Technical College and at the Sons of Norway District 5 Youth Heritage and Language Camp in Falls Creek.
