Feng shui workshop offered through UW-Stevens Point

Use the Chinese tradition of feng shui to create beauty and balance in your home and life through a workshop offered by Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Offered Saturday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to noon, the workshop features a unique, simple approach to recreating space according to the power of the four directions and four seasons. The aim of feng shui is to create a living and working environment in harmony with nature and the flow of energy. Its details relate to position of elements, color and materials. Feng shui has been practiced throughout Asia for thousands of years, and has recently grown in popularity in the United States as a tool for home design and interior space development. This workshop will focus on a contemporary and westernized version of feng shui.

Participants should bring a hand drawn, birds-eye view plan of the main floor of their home marked with the directions of north, south, east and west.

Instructor Eileen Kelz, a master teacher through the International Institute of Interior Alignment and the owner of Dynamic Environments, says she “coaches people to thrive in their own environment. . . . Our spaces mirror who we are and can also be a template for the kind of life we want to live.”

The cost is $29. For more information or registration, contact UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education at 715-346-3838 or 800-898-9472 or go online.
