‘Dora and Diego Day’ offered for kids at UW-Stevens Point

Young children will explore Spanish language and culture with Nickelodeon’s Dora and Diego through a fun program on Saturday, Feb. 4.

“Dora and Diego Day” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Children ages 3-6 years old will enjoy games, crafts, songs and food while learning Spanish words with Dora and Diego. The cost is $12 per child, and parents are welcome to attend. This event will give parents and children a taste of an upcoming introductory Spanish class offered through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education program.

The workshop will be instructed by Kaylin Wornson and Amanda David. Wornson is a UW-Stevens Point alumna with degrees in Spanish and communicative disorders. She is currently working toward certification in secondary education and English as a second language teaching. She has studied abroad in Spain and tutored high school and college students in Spanish. David is a UW-Stevens Point student with experience in musical theatre and International Club. She has also been a teaching assistant and is an intern with UW-Stevens Point Continuing Education.
