Create fused glass pendants and more in UWSP workshop

A popular class in which participants create colored glass items will be offered again on Saturday, Dec. 3, through the Continuing Education Arts and Culture Outreach program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The “Glass Fusing Workshop” will be offered from 8:30 to 11 a.m. for ages 16 to adult. Both beginning and advanced techniques may be used to create bowls, plates, pendants and more by stacking colored sheet glass, recycled glass and glass granules and powders, and melting them together (fusing) in a kiln. The workshop is $59, which includes materials for several projects and use of glass tools.

Leading this workshop is Kristin Thielking, a UW-Stevens Point professor of art and design who specializes in glass and sculpture.
