Online Music Coaching Sessions

Free online music coaching sessions are available through the UWSP Music Department.  Beginner through twelfth grade students who play or sing in their school ensembles can book sessions with our music education students who are gaining teaching experience in an online setting. 

Signing up for FREE online coaching sessions is easy:

  2. Select an available date on their calendar
  3. Select an available time
  4. Below, enter your name and email address
  5. Click Book
  6. You should receive an invite in your email (CHECK THE SPAM/JUNK FOLDER)
  7. You should also receive a reminder email 24 hours and 30 min prior to the session.
  8. At your lesson time, click the zoom link in your email.

Emilie Anderson - Trombone

Emilie Anderson is a third year Instrumental and General Music Education major with emphasis on trombone at UWSP. She graduated high school from Menasha, WI in 2018. Emilie is quite enthusiastic about all kinds of music and welcomes those of all ages and abilities. Emily Rahn - Trumpet

Hello! My name is Emily Rahn and I am a senior studying music education and trumpet performance at UW-Stevens Point. I am deeply passionate about sharing the beauty of music and all things trumpet related with my community. I play in the UW-Stevens Point Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble. I have also played with other music groups in the area, such as the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Symphonic Winds. When I am not playing the trumpet, studying music, or teaching, I love to spend time with my family, create digital drawings, read, and play with my cat!

Jared Schrang - Trumpet


Jared Schrang is a Senior trumpet player studying music education and trumpet performance. Jared began playing trumpet in 5
th grade and has grown a passion for practice and performance ever since. He strongly believes in fundamental playing and developing one’s own musical identity. He has a strong knowledge of classical trumpet and confidently knows many of the WSMA solo and ensemble repertoire. Along with this, Jared is fluent in the areas of music theory and jazz style, and improvisation. Jared studies under Brent Turney and is very active in the Stevens Point area music scene, performing regularly (sans covid). Jared is excited to bring his love for music and for the trumpet to all students."

Sami Weinkoetz - Clarinet

Sami Weinkoetz is a senior at UW - Stevens Point majoring in Instrumental Music Education & Clarinet Performance. She serves as principal clarinetist of the UWSP Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble. An active performer, she was named winner of the Peet Faust Concerto Competition in December 2019 along with her fellow clarinetist, Sarah Faltz. As an aspiring educator, Sami has been involved with many organizations such as the National Association for Music Education, Delta Omicron, and the Student Coalition for Equity in Music. This spring, she is set to lead the Symphonic Wind Ensemble as an apprentice conductor.

Kaitlyn Janssen - Flute

Kaitlyn Janssen is currently a senior Music Education student at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. She has been playing flute since 6th grade (that’s almost 11 years!). She performs with the Stevens Point Flute Ensemble as well as the Stevens Point Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Kaitlyn is also a part of the professional music fraternity on campus, Delta Omicron! Kaitlyn’s favorite movie franchise is Star Wars, and her favorite hobbies include playing Animal Crossing and playing any instrument she can get her hands on! 


Karina Verdette - Flute


My name is Karina Verdette, and I am an Instrumental, Choral, and General Music Education Major. My primary instruments are flute and voice. Although, I am open to recorder and ukulele lessons too. I am currently the Treasurer of Delta Omicron Alpha Alpha and the Vice President of CNAfME. I have been a part of the WSMA High School State Honors Project and many other performance groups. I am very excited to gain experience teaching online!

John Kloth - Saxophone

John Kloth is a saxophonist currently in his third year of studies at the University of Stevens Point where he is pursuing a degree in instrumental music education.  He has been a part of numerous ensembles on campus including the symphonic wind ensemble and the jazz band.

Havilah Vang - Violin


Havilah Vang is a Violin Performance and Music Education major at UWSP. She loves to explore different types of music and adapt them to the violin. Her favorite part about playing music is being able to create and share emotions with other people through music. Some of her hobbies include fishing, sewing, cooking, and of course, playing and recording music!

Kadin Yach - Piano

Kadin Yach is an Instrumental Music Education major, with a minor in Jazz Studies. Throughout his musical career, Kadin has performed in show choir, musicals, professional big bands, and jazz combos. He has 10+ years of piano training, along with 4 years of playing guitar. In his free time, Kadin enjoys the outdoors by hiking, biking, camping, and swimming.
