ACTFL OPIc and WPT Assessments
Students with a teaching major or minor in German or Spanish must pass the ACTFL OPIc and WPT exams prior to student teaching, regardless of their major/minor GPA.
Since these are skills-based assessments in speaking and writing, the assessments there are no "study" materials available. Instead, students should practice speaking and writing in their language on a regular basis.
The Tutoring and Learning Center offers general language tutoring that students can take advantage of in order to increase their language development. Students should also consult with faculty in World Language Education to discuss their preparation for the ACTFL OPIc and WPT assessments.
