Student Care and Support

You Matter. Point Cares. The Dean of Students staff continues to seamlessly support, advocate for, and make appropriate referrals to campus and community resources for students. We continue to visit directly with students about their concerns and consult with faculty and staff as we all assist students in receiving the support they need. Contact our Care Team via phone at 715-346-2611 (leave a message), email at dos@uwsp.edu, or submit information to office online. We are excited to talk, Zoom, or exchange email notes with our amazing students!

Food and Finances

The current COVID-19 situation has impacted finances and access to basic needs for many of our students. The Cupboard food pantry for Stevens Point students remains available (online orders only) and we have a list of other food resources for students and families in Stevens Point, Marshfield, and Wausau (call ahead to confirm availability).

UW-Stevens Point has received additional COVID Emergency Relief Funds as part of the American Relief Act (ARA)/Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). Please watch your UWSP email for information about future, direct grants.

The COVID Emergency Relief Grant has ended as all funds have been granted..

Our office also manages emergency grants specifically for branch campus students (Marshfield/Wausau). If students are home and concerned about food or finances, call the statewide United Way hotline at 211, text your zip code to 898211, or visit 211 Wisconsin online. Students from states other than Wisconsin can Google information about their local United Way 211 service.
